On 20 September, the seminar on Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation of European Projects was held at CIDETEC, delivered by Jörg Scherer & Stephanie Weber, members of the Eurice consultancy firm, within the framework of the initiatives developed by the European IPR Helpdesk. The European IPR Helpdesk is a service managed by the European Commission’s Executive Agency that supports cross-border SMEs to manage, disseminate and exploit technologies and other intellectual property rights at EU level.
One of the main objectives of the European IPR Helpdesk is to offer a full range of training and capacity-building measures to beneficiaries of EU-funded projects, including support for them to develop their own intellectual property (IP) management strategies and processes. It was within this framework that the seminar was held, attended by all the CIDETEC professionals who, in carrying out their activity, must tackle tasks of communication, dissemination and exploitation of IP.
Although communication, dissemination and exploitation are connected to each other in one way or another, it is common to find problems when it comes to clearly defining and differentiating the different concepts. Providing the keys to overcome this confusion was one of the central objectives of the seminar.
CIDETEC has been collaborating regularly with the Eurice consultancy firm in the last five years in the management of different FP7 and H2020 projects.
