The course, organised by HEGAN – Basque Aerospace Cluster and CIDETEC, will cover the most commonly-used non-destructive testing, Penetrating Liquids and Magnetic Particles, focusing on the techniques and equipment used in the aeronautics industry. The training will include a practical demonstration at the CIDETEC Surface Engineering facilities, which is accredited by NADCAP to carry out these tests. It will also cover the NADCAP requirements for the qualification of personnel, inspection using penetrating liquids and inspection with magnetic particles. This training will be given by Jorge Rodríguez, doctorate in chemical sciences from UPV-EHU and current Business Developer for CIDETEC Surface Engineering’s Aerospace Industry.
Non-destructive testing is an essential part of the process in the production of aeronautical components. Their correct execution depends largely on the training and experience of the operator and therefore is one of the so-called special processes that implicitly require a NADCAP accreditation in order to ensure that they are correctly executed.
