With its new installations, CIDETEC bolsters its position as a reference institution in surface engineering innovation and development.
The new CIDETEC Surface Engineering installations in Miramon Scientific and Technological Park were officially inaugurated on 19 July. The ceremony was presided by Basque Government Lehendakari (President), Íñigo Urkullu, with the presence of Councillor for Economic Development and Infrastructures Arantxa Tapia, General Representative for Gipuzkoa Markel Olano Arrese, Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa Representative for Economic Promotion, Rural Environment and Territorial Balance Ainhoa Aizpuru, CIDETEC President Eduardo Junkera and CIDETEC General Director Javier Rodríguez.
The inauguration featured a visit to the installations, endowed with cutting-edge equipment such as synthesising, characterisation and advanced polymer and composite processing resources as well as fully-fitted laboratories for studying, characterising and treating surfaces.
“At the end of 2015, we decided that, for the future, we had to concentrate our efforts, specialise more, stake more and risk more in order to be able to contribute more”, the Cidetec General Director affirmed. “In this process of evolution, Basque Government policies with regard to innovation and technology have served us as guidelines, and I must say we are totally aligned with them”.
The event, which culminated with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, was attended by representatives of the institutions comprising the CIDETEC board, Basque business organisations and associations, and the leading companies in the industrial sectors where CIDETEC conducts its activity.
