The CIDETEC spin-off joins the national ecosystem that promotes access to space with 100% Spanish technology.
LANZO Batteries, a CIDETEC spin-off specialized in the manufacturing of batteries for the aerospace sector, will supply PLD Space with batteries for the MIURA 5 rocket, the first satellite launcher developed entirely with Spanish technology.
The MIURA 5 project represents a national technological milestone, opening the door to a new era of access to space from Europe with a new generation of launchers. With full system reusability targeted for 2030, PLD Space is leading an initiative that combines technological innovation and strategic vision.
LANZO will supply high-performance modular lithium batteries for the MIURA 5, which will be integrated into both the first and second stages of the rocket. These units are designed to withstand extreme conditions near the engine and cryogenic tanks, as well as to facilitate maintenance and reuse between missions.
This collaboration, which strengthens the national network being built around MIURA 5, positions LANZO Batteries as a relevant player in the space sector. In addition, it consolidates CIDETEC’s commitment to high-impact innovation and technology transfer.
