• The HONDANER Group, experts in the management of hazardous, non-hazardous waste, and metals, along with CIDETEC, a leader in the development of energy storage technologies, and private investors, have launched this new business initiative.

• KUDEBATT already manages cells, modules, and battery packs.

KUDEBATT is a new company focused on the comprehensive management of recycling and second-life reuse of cells, modules, and lithium-ion-based energy storage systems.

This initiative, which is already providing recycling services, aims to offer innovative solutions in the circular economy sector for battery reuse and recycling. According to projections by the European Commission, the annual growth rate in lithium-ion battery consumption is expected to be approximately 15% over the coming years, increasing from €100 billion in 2024 to €400 billion by 2035.

KUDEBATT, officially established at the end of 2024, is already operating as a Transfer Center with the capacity to manage cells, modules, and battery packs. In addition, innovative technology is being developed to enable the future installation of a comprehensive treatment center for metallic, electronic, plastic waste and black mass.

CIDETEC, HONDANER, and several private investors have contributed to the share capital of the new company, which aims to become a benchmark in the lithium-ion battery recycling and reuse market in the Basque Country and northern Spain. The technology center CIDETEC, based in Donostia and with 28 years of experience in battery development, brings its advanced knowledge and technology to KUDEBATT. Meanwhile, the HONDANER Group, based in Bergara and with more than 25 years of experience in industrial waste recycling (hazardous, non-hazardous, and metals), contributes its extensive sector expertise to this alliance.
