Over twenty students from Eskibel school visited the centre’s facilities
For the second year running, CIDETEC has welcomed over twenty female students under the Emakumeak Zientzian initiative, providing them with first-hand experience of the significant contributions made by women in science. Students from Eskibel School gained hands-on experience of a technology centre, igniting their interest in science subjects by highlighting the potential employment opportunities these studies offer.
Idoia Urdampilleta, Head of the Energy Materials Unit, Alaitz Rekondo, Head of the Polymers and Composites Unit, and Soledad Larrocha, Director of People Development, gave these future researchers a guided tour of CIDETEC’s laboratories and pilot plants, providing them with insights into the nature of science activities and addressing their questions regarding the merits of science-related careers.
The visit coincides with the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, which is held on 11th February.
Science is also women’s business!
