The second technical progress meeting of iModBatt took place on the 9-10th of October 2018 in the Austrian Institute of Technologies (AIT), whose main site is in Vienna. Since our partner ProAutomation (PRO) is also located in Vienna we also visited their facilities in the city and had a quick tour guided by our colleagues of PRO.
At this stage of the project, we are very close to fundamental Milestones for the project and hence, discussions, especially F2F discussions, become critically important. After one year of project, it is time to make decisions, even if as in any research project, our trend would be to keep on in the optimization of the achieved results. However, considering the ambitious challenge to build and test several battery packs (BP), we are very close to freeze the BP design and launch the purchase of parts.
Therefore the General Assembly was defined so that highlights of each WP were defined by WP leaders and then, almost a whole day was used to discuss specific concerns with a special focus on the cell selection and BP overall design.
